In 1959, my grandparents made a choice that would change everything: they decided to leave behind their lives in New York and return to Cuba. The city had been their home since youth, a place of freedom and promise. Yet when the Revolution triumphed, they felt the pull of history and convinced themselves they belonged in the island’s new beginning.

A visual essay exploring how the act of waiting can profoundly shape our perception of life, revealing the different ways individuals experience, interpret, and inhabit the present moment. It reflects on time not as a linear passage, but as a space of introspection, tension, and transformation.
